American Heritage Girls

About American Heritage Girls

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26

American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a faith-based organization that focuses on the holistic development of girls ages 5 to 18. Established to support Christian parents in instilling Biblical values, AHG offers a program that encourages spiritual growth, leadership, teamwork, and community service. Troops provide a safe and nurturing environment where girls can explore life skills, participate in outdoor activities, earn badges, and engage in service projects. AHG’s mission is to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. Through its structured program, girls develop confidence, character, and a commitment to Christian principles, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the challenges of today’s world. The organization emphasizes the importance of strong female mentors and a supportive community, helping girls grow into responsible and compassionate women of faith.

We meet at 6:30 PM on Thursdays at Calvary Chapel Bartlesville, 1607 Swan Dr, Bartlesville, OK 74006

About AHG at Calvary Chapel Bartlesville

AHG OK-3126 at Calvary Chapel, Bartlesville, aims to impart the wisdom of Scripture and the tenets of kindness to our young ladies. As the older generations of women teach the foundations of a Biblical worldview alongside skills and knowledge attained in gardening, first aid, camping and wilderness survival, service, homemaking, engineering, natural science, American history, and much more, the girls involved will learn good stewardship of their blessings, and how to be a blessing to others. Mothers, aunts, sisters, and grandmothers are invited and expected to be actively involved, strengthening their bonds with these younger, impressionable daughters of God, and to teach as well as to learn alongside them. Through these experiences, a family of Christ is naturally built and relationships are cherished.

We pray together for one another and for our country. We serve wholeheartedly, love unconditionally, and defend and uphold Scriptural values unapologetically. Consider joining us as we raise up a new generation of fierce, yet gentle, women warriors for the Kingdom of Christ!

The American Heritage Girls (AHG) program is a comprehensive, faith-based character development organization designed for girls ages 5 to 18. Founded in 1995, AHG is dedicated to building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. The program focuses on providing opportunities for girls to grow in their faith, develop leadership skills, and participate in community service while fostering a supportive environment.

Programs

AHG’s structure includes five program levels, each tailored to the developmental needs of the girls. These levels are:

  • Pathfinder (Ages 5-6): Focuses on nurturing curiosity and creativity while introducing fundamental faith lessons and service activities.
  • Tenderheart (Ages 6-9): Encourages exploration and growth in faith, life skills, and leadership through various troop activities and outdoor adventures.
  • Explorer (Ages 9-12): Offers increased responsibilities and opportunities for service, leadership, and skill development in a welcoming and fun environment.
  • Pioneer (Ages 12-14): Provides a safe space for girls to discover their identity in Christ and develop advanced leadership skills.
  • Patriot (Ages 14-18): Focuses on preparing girls for adulthood through deepening spiritual maturity, servant leadership, and high adventure opportunities.

The program emphasizes six key components: Faith, Leadership, Social-Emotional Health, Outdoors, Citizenship, and Life Skills. Each component is designed to ensure that girls emerge as competent, confident, and Christ-centered individuals. Girls participate in badge programs, outdoor activities, and service projects that promote personal growth and community involvement.

Leaders

Leilani LaGorce

Leilani LaGorce – Troop Coordinator

While regularly bringing my boys to Trail Life meetings, my daughter Clara often asked to join AHG. After months of her persistent requests, I visited another troop and felt God calling me to start our own. As the Troop Coordinator for AHG Troop OK-3126, my goal is to create a safe environment where young girls can grow in their walk with God. I provide oversight for all troop operations, recruit and train troop leaders, and ensure adherence to AHG policies, fostering opportunities for life skills development and outdoor adventures.

Jodi Anaya

Jodi Anaya – Vice-Coordinator

As the Vice-Coordinator, I’m thrilled to support our new AHG troop. My son has been in Trail Life since 2019, and as a mom, my involvement was somewhat limited. When I heard about starting an American Heritage Girls troop, I was excited. There aren’t many Christian groups for girls in our area. After praying for guidance, I accepted the role of Vice-Coordinator. I oversee troop meetings, help unit leaders organize activities, and serve as the Girl Leadership Director, advising and guiding the girls in their leadership roles within the troop.

Kandis Alsup

Kandis Alsup – Troop Shepherd

My passion is to help these girls grow closer in their walk with Jesus, navigate today’s world, and form lasting friendships with like-minded girls. Though my daughters are too old to be in AHG, my heart is set on supporting this younger generation. As the Troop Shepherd, I am dedicated to nurturing the spiritual well-being of the girls, coordinating faith-based activities, and guiding them in their journey to stand for truth and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

Rachel Hitchcock

Rachel Hitchcock – Troop Treasurer

I’ve been bringing my sons to Trail Life for two years, with my daughter tagging along each week. She has already formed close friendships with the other younger sisters of the troop boys. We mothers often discussed starting an AHG troop for our daughters, seeing it as a natural progression for our families. We share a deep desire to mentor and encourage these young ladies as they grow up together in a challenging world. As the Troop Treasurer, I’m thrilled to oversee the troop’s financial health, manage funds, organize fundraisers, and ensure resources are allocated to create enriching activities that foster tight bonds and lasting memories.
